"Monopoly - You Can't Deposit Excuses" by IKONICK.
Imagine your life as a piggy bank.
Every time you earn a paycheck, learn a new skill, form a new relationship, or do anything else to improve your position in life, you make a "deposit" into the piggy bank—one you can withdraw when the need arises. Every piece of effort you invest into your future is just waiting to pay dividends down the road. You can cash-out when you need to, and then get right back to saving them up.
That paycheck can start building up toward your dream car; that learned skill might be what it takes to bring your career to the next level; and that relationship you made might just become a business partner down the line. You never know what will become of your "deposits" until you cash them out. But all of them will pay.
Life is always going to present you with circumstances that demand you to dip into the piggy bank. If you stop progressing in life—stop learning, stop earning, stop making "deposits"—that bank is going to dry up fast.
It is a game of constant effort. Standing still is falling behind. You must always be moving forward. It can be hard to stay motivated, but you can't deposit excuses.
Say you are thinking of going back to school. There are plenty of excuses not to make the effort. Maybe it's too expensive. Maybe you don't have enough free time as it is. Maybe you will have to work less (and earn less) during the week in order to make time for your studies. Maybe your dead-end job isn't so bad after all...
Those maybes don't count for anything. Only actions produce results. Years later when it comes time to make a "withdrawal" from your piggy bank, that degree will pay out. Excuses won't.
"You Can't Deposit Excuses" from the officially licensed Monopoly Front Page Collection is your friendly reminder of a harsh reality: Excuses aren't worth sh**. Only hard work and deliberate effort will bring you closer to your goals. If it's tough, good. That will make the reward that much sweeter when you take the hammer to the pig.
Success is paid for by work ethic, not excuses. Remember that.
Origins Of Monopoly
The earliest known version of Monopoly, known as The Landlord's Game, was designed by Elizabeth Magie in 1904 to teach people about realty and taxation. It was a practical demonstration of the present system of land grabbing with all its usual outcomes and consequences. In 1935, It then inspired the game we know today.
The Inspiration for IKONICKs collection comes from the same very origin Elizabeth Magie had to educate and teach. This new collection is meant to rewrite the nostalgic stories we all played growing up. We created our own world with the intention to inspire and motivate a new generation of entrepreneurs and dreamers that want to build their empire through hard work, patience, risk-taking, leadership, optimism, focus, and gratitude.
