Roots Of Success Canvas Art by IKONICK.
When the work you put in takes root, your success will only grow.
In the first five years of life, a sapling doesn't show much visible growth. But under the surface, it is preparing to thrive.
A tree is nothing without its roots. They are the most important part of a plant. They can sense where the water is, and dig hundreds of feet underground, penetrating solid rock, to reach it. They keep the tree anchored from wind storms above, and if a branch breaks off, the roots supply the nutrients and energy to heal. If the tree is to grow tall, it needs a healthy root system to do it.
It is a perfect metaphor for achieving success. Without a strong foundation, you won't grow. You need to put in the groundwork first. Develop the roots that will keep you strong on the way up:
Put in the hard work. Develop persistence. Push through the late nights. Accept the rejections. Deal with the sacrifices. Learn the discipline. Take the criticism. Silence the doubts. Learn from the failures. Take the risks. Only then will you be able to weather the storms on the way to success.
But even then, you're not done. Roots are never done growing until the tree dies. You can't spend a year building a foundation and expect to stay up forever. The momentum just doesn’t carry. Drive around town after a windstorm or hurricane. You'll see the same thing on every upturned tree: Shallow roots.
Deep roots holdfast. You have to grow downward in order to grow upward. Never get complacent and neglect the foundational skills. Their value will continue to support you on the way up. And if you suffer a setback, they will give you the energy to keep going. The more you develop your roots, the higher they’ll take you.
"Roots of Success" original canvas wall artwork from IKONICK visualizes the importance of putting in the groundwork. No one sees the roots of the tree and no one else will appreciate the effort, but if you want to grow tall you need a strong foundation. It's what's beneath the surface that counts.
